EZO’s Profile’s High Rizer: Rye Rye

July 30, 2009 – EZO Magazine, the curator of artists within the music, fashion, and photography realm, will feature the forthcoming artists who will bring a different attitude to the entertainment neighborhood.  In the second issue, EZO Magazine has taken the opportunity to present the new kids on the block who have defeated the odds and rose to the top with their talents despite their trials and tribulations.

Breaking into the music industry is never easy and many artists can validate the blood, sweat, and tears that are sacrificed by an individual or group for the ultimate goal of radio play.   In today’s age with the contribution of the World Wide Web, the portal of opportunity poses as a gift and a curse.  With over 200,000 daily uploads on YouTube, it is easy for artists to get lost in shuffle of airwaves and live streams.  EZO raps with “cover boy” Red Cafe on how he has beaten the odds to become an established veteran in the rap game.  Red Cafe has pushed his mixtape hustle to the mainstream arena, and EZO got the Brooklyn Bomber to dish his recipe on the origins of his name, his music game, and his fantasy with Megan Fox and Halle Berry.

Cleveland native and Kanye companion, Kid Cudi, will also grace the dual cover the second issue.  EZO illuminates both sides of the “Day N’ Nite” artist, sheds some light on Cudi’s musical inspiration, and captures his thoughts on his highly anticipated album “Man on the Moon.”

With all of the pretty faces out in Hollywood, you have to do more than sing and dance to get ahead of the game. Adrienne Bailon, formerly of the R&B trio 3LW, talks about her ride through the musical safari with the Cheetah Girls and her new ventures at the tender age of 25.  In this issue of EZO Magazine, Adrienne gets real and discusses her love for music, acting, and her private life being exposed.  The MTV VJ also gives EZO the dish on her reality series taping and that she wants the world to see that she is “a regular down to earth girl.”

Other highlights in the second issue of EZO Magazine include interviews with Terry Kennedy, DJ Green Latern, DJ Miss Saigon, Paradiso Girls, Pacific Division, Baltimore Babe Rye Rye, and photography by Andrey Razumovsky.

The August issue of EZO Magazine is available NOW! And be sure to check out www.EZOBASE.com

Golden Jill

March 5, 2009

My musical taste is all over the place, just as long as it’s GOOD music. And Jill Scott definitely falls in that category. I’m not a stan for her or anything but she’s a great artist. Her music is soulful and always makes me smile or feel good whatever the topic, “Crown Royal” especially. Congrats to her on both her new nuptials AND her new baby on the way. Here she is in the newest issue of GIANT magazine.

Glamour’s American Icons

March 5, 2009

In commeration  of Women’s History Month (I’m assuming) the March issue of Glamour features a few of American’s Icons who are women. Here are a couple, for the rest head on over to Glamour’s site.

Alicia Keys as Michelle Obama

Alicia Keys as Michelle Obama

While I don’t think it is a bad photo or anything, Ithink they probably could’ve used someone else for a more accurate depiction, hey as long as it’s not Beyonce I’m good. Lol.

Chanel Iman as Tennis great Althea Gibson

Chanel Iman as Tennis great Althea Gibson

Chanel is very striking as was Ms.Gibson, so I think this is spot on. Althea Gibson was just as glamorous off the court as on.

Emma Roberts as Audrey Hepburn

Emma Roberts as Audrey Hepburn

Another accurate depiction, this one re-enacted by Emma Roberts, who is a pint-sized film star in her own right , just like her Aunt Julia (Roberts).

Emma Stone as Carrie Bradshaw

Emma Stone as Carrie Bradshaw

This falls into the Michelle Obama category as well in my opinion, if you’re familiar with the Sex and the City franchise you know which scene they were attempting to re-enact but I don’t think the model, nor the styling is quite “Carrie” enough.

Paula Patton as Billie Holiday

Paula Patton as Billie Holiday

Paula definitely captured Billie Holiday, especially with her signature flower, which is a Gardenia if I’m not mistaken. Lady Sings the Blues is one of my favorite movies, aslong with Holliday as one of my favorite artists, and “Good Morning Heartache” as one of my favorite songs.

Gotta Love This Girl

March 5, 2009

Jazmine Sullivan dropped a new video, which is the third single & video from her debut album. Don’t think it’s the greatest song on the album, but it’s still a goodie. Some good  ‘ole feel good motivational music. Definitely will be in rotation on the playlist, could use a few motivators as of late…. Here it is, third single, “Dream Big”. If you haven’t copped or heard the album, be sure to, it’s worth it.

So I’ve been thinking…

January 5, 2009

Just as I’m sure everyone else has been, I’ve been thinking about my life, goals, etc. and what the upcoming year has in store for me. I don’t know what it is about the new year but it gets everyone thinking all “seriously”. About making plans that they probably won’t follow through with, resolutions they definitely won’t keep, and a whole bunch of other things. It probably has alot to do with the change of another year, eventhough it is something that is consistent (so it isn’t really change if you think about it) it always evokes the same reaction from alot of us.

But I digress, in the spirit of “serious thinking” here’s a new track an old acquaintance of mine, Mickey Factz, sent me. If you don’t know about Mickey Factz I seriously suggest you ask somebody, lol. If you need a break from these Soulja-crap tracks, and have had enough of the vocoder “music”, check him out on his MYSPACE. Featured everywhere from Vibe, Spin, GIANT, and most recently on XXL’s FRESHMAN 10 cover .Mickey is definitely on the rise. So without further adue here’s a song from his upcoming album, The Achievement.

That’s My Song…

October 29, 2008

I was on The A.R. Experience and saw these speakers that I was really into & thought they would definitely be a conversation piece in my new place as well. They’re some really Hard(Cool, Nice, Mean, etc. for those of you who don’t know :-) ) Giant Ipod Speakers…

Giant Ipod Speakers for Slae @ Urban Outfitters for $40

Giant Ipod Speakers for Sale @ Urban Outfitters for $40

These would be perfect to listen to my favorite song right now…Right By My Side. Always been a fan of Jadakiss, in my Top 5 right along with Fabolous. Two rappers, who I think are vey much underrated and not given deservign publicity. Never would’ve thought Jadakiss to do a “Chick” song, but he did & did it well.
