Freebies…On my way to Times Square

February 5, 2009

So it turns out that some really generous gentleman has set up shop in Times Square going by the name of Bailout Bill. I along with a number of other people think this is a GENIOUS marketing ploy, especially in times such as these. This gentleman who for obvious reasons has decided to not disclose personal information about himself besides the nickname Bailout Bill.

Bailout Bill has rented out a little pop-up shop in the Square handing out money to those who are willing to share their financial difficulties and why they need the money. According to their PR reprentatives they’ve handed out amounts from $50 to as much as $1,000. Catch is which I think is no biggie at all if you REALLY need it, is that this all will be taped.  So if you feel so inclined hop on a train or even walk over if you’re nearby.

Hope it works out for you.

UPDATE

The Bailout Booth is on 46th & 7th. Be prepared for a wait.

Happy New Years!!!

December 30, 2008

Although his attempt to buy the rights to New York City’s Legendary Ball-Dropping in Times Square & make it a Ciroc New Year’s failed, Diddy is still going to those New York City dwellers who aren’t celebrating in a tropic place for New Years a little gift.

Rap impresario and vodka pitchman Sean (Diddy) Combs wants New Yorkers to party on New Year’s Eve, so he’s offering to pay for the cab-fare to help tipsy revelers get home safe.

The hip-hop honcho and Ciroc premium vodka will announce Tuesday they are teaming up with the city Taxi & Limousine Commission to give away thousands of free cab rides to ring in 2009.

New York is the world’s most iconic New Year’s Eve city, so let’s lead by example and show everyone that a sophisticated holiday celebration doesn’t just end when the ball drops, but when everyone gets home safely,” Combs said.

Thousands of $15 debit cards that can be redeemed for single taxi rides will be handed out by Ciroc street teams in Times Square and in Chelsea beginning at 11 p.m. Wednesday night.

The cards will be doled out until 3 a.m. New Year’s Day, or until the supply runs out.

So if you’ll be out there, I know I won’t be, look for those Ciroc signs so you can get yourself a free ride home. Be sure to partner up though, ’cause I’m quite sure unless you live before 86th street you won’t be getting too far unless you’re lucky enough to catch the cab driver my sisters & I had on Courtney’s 21st… More about that later, lol! So get your hustle on, and double up on them debit cards.  And of course be safe!
